Letter from the Director:
As I reflect on how this Easter distribution came together, I’m reminded once again of the power of faith and community.
This Easter, that spirit showed up in its purest form.
For years, Jenny Rice and I have collaborated on holiday meals rooted in faith, trust, and community showing up. Doing it from the food bank looked a little different. There’s more planning, more logistics, more moving parts. But this Easter distribution? This one was run full Little Free Pantry style — built entirely on faith. We stepped forward without knowing how it would all come together, trusting that if we led with heart, the community would meet us there. And you did.
I want to speak directly to my team — the heart behind everything we do. None of the work of the Seymour Oxford Food Bank, the Little Free Pantry on Skokorat, or the Oxford Neighbor to Neighbor Pantry happens without a strong, steady, compassionate team. When I walked in and said, “We’re doing Easter,” there were questions — and I didn’t have answers yet. But every single one of you rolled with me, minute by minute, trusting the mission and trusting each other.
To our brand‑new Operations Manager, Charlotte DuBail Adams — thank you for stepping in with such grace, flexibility, and heart. You jumped into the unknown with us, and we are so grateful you’re here.
During holiday meals, something special happens — people come together from a place of pure generosity. The why and the who are never questioned. What matters is that someone needs help, and someone else is willing to give it.
Thank you for showing up with such heart. Thank you for reminding us what is possible when compassion leads the way. Because of you, 169 families — 644 people — will sit down to an
Easter meal they weren’t sure they’d have.
With Heartfelt Gratitude
Kristina Walton
