Meet Rob!

Rob has been a fixture of the Food Bank for quite some time. If you’ve seen our van out and about, then chances are you’ve crossed paths with him.

Although he’s not big on recognition or attention (sorry Rob!), he’s an awesome human who deserves heaps of both. The truth is, our operation relies heavily on recovered food from grocers and bulk donations. More often than not, Rob, is the guy doing pick up and delivery. He’s consistently willing to lend some muscle along with a smile, including removing doors and moving furniture to improve our layout.

He’s also reliable, patient, and kind. These are all qualities that are important when you’re working with people.

Fun facts about Rob:
🏒 He referees ice hockey
❤️ He has a HUGE heart
📦 He loves breaking down cardboard
🚐 He never says no when our Director says "I need a favor" even when it involves an impossible task like fitting 250 turkeys in the van!

We are SO GRATEFUL to Rob for EVERYTHING he does for our Food Bank and our community. He’s truly a role model for all of us.

Hello Community!

We have our November numbers and they are even higher than we expected.

Thanks to YOUR help, and the addition of several emergency shifts, we distributed a whopping 58,943 lbs of food to 668 families and 2116 individuals!!!!

AND

With the help of MANY community partners, local businesses, volunteers, individual supporters, town employees, and our generous funders (Thank you Valley Community Foundation and Katharine Matthies Foundation!!!) we distributed AN ADDITIONAL 35,000 lbs of Thanksgiving JOY to 3150 individuals and 1100 families.

That is a GRAND TOTAL of 93,943 lbs of LOVE and KINDNESS to 5,266 individuals and 1,768 families!!!!

After a much needed break this weekend, we are gearing up for an equally busy December. With our schedule filling rapidly, we are EXTRA grateful for your support!

❤️ Protein/Granola Bars

Meet Our Staff

Executive Director

Kristina Walton

Kristina became executive director of the food bank in 2024 and has worked alongside dedicated staff and volunteers to expand the hours and offerings available. Her passion is making sure all our neighbors have their needs met, including feeling seen, heard, and loved. When she is not at the food bank or in the community advocating for her neighbors, Kristina enjoys spending time with her husband Ty and 5 children who she steward's the Oxford Neighbor to Neighbor Pantry with out of their home.

Her super power is: Creating MAGIC

Operations Manager

Joslynn Hernandez

Joslynn joined our team as Operations Manager in 2025 after volunteering countless hours. She has a deep passion for helping others and brings valuable experience from TEAM Inc, Bridgeport Rescue Mission, and the Seymour Pumpkin Festival. Her favorite part about the Food Bank is meeting "wonderful people in our community", including all our awesome volunteers.

Her super power is: Not just remaining calm during the storm, but friendly and helpful.
