Welcome to Seymour Oxford Food Bank!
About Us

The Seymour Oxford Food Bank was founded in 1979 by the clergy association in response to the growing need for food assistance in our community. Since then, we've experienced significant growth and evolution, becoming incorporated in 2014 and an official 501c3 nonprofit in 2016.

Today, The Seymour Oxford Food Bank is proud to collaborate with many community partners including other area food banks, local farms, businesses, nonprofits, and, of course, the clergy who remain on the front lines of making sure those most vulnerable among us have their basic needs met.

Mission
To provide food with compassion and understanding, in a welcoming space where people feel connected and supported .
Vision
We envision a hunger-free world where every person is nourished with dignity, compassion, and respect—empowered by equitable access to food and uplifted by a community rooted in care and shared humanity.
Values
-
Dignity We honor the worth of every individual by ensuring that food is shared with care, not judgment.
-
Compassion We lead with empathy, recognizing the humanity in every story and every need.
-
Equity We believe nutritious food is a right, not a privilege—and we work to remove barriers for all.
-
Community We build strong, inclusive communities where people support one another and thrive together.
-
Respectful We listen, learn, and serve with humility—treating every person with kindness and respect.
-
Integrity We steward resources responsibly and operate with transparency, trust, and ethical commitment.
-
Collaboration We grow stronger through shared purpose, working hand-in-hand with volunteers, donors, and neighbors.
